Using the original sources of their diaries, letters and published works, their own words are transposed from the written form onto the stage as two-act dramatic monologues. Two completed scripts are included in this work; they are the Fry and Stowe plays which have been performed before live audiences whose feedback is included (chapter 7) in the work and whose reactions informed the re-writing of the finished scripts. Those scripts, with historical introductions and study guides, comprise chapters 3 and 5 of the work.
