They can be powerful aids in preaching if and only if they are kept in a supporting role and do not overpower the sermon.  The project explores ways of realizing the power of illustrations while avoiding their dangers.  It reviews sources for illustrations and methods of filing them.  Sermons that use these ideals are evaluated by a representative group of parishioners.
