Principles and insights of the action science model developed by Argyris and Schon (1974) and the ideas of Wenger on informal 'communities of practice' (1998) undergird three ministry-based explorations. A  Practicum group, a Roman Catholic group and an Elementary School Faculty were tested for evidence of a community of practice and any personal or communal transformations.
