Chapter 1 set the context for the ministry and how the project will be carried out. Chapter 2 established a sacred foundation for lay involvement in ministry. A case is made in chapter two using biblical, theological and historical arguments for the activity of the laity in ministry. Chapter 3 investigated the needs of the rapidly aging American population. A.H. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs was used to emphasize the person's needs. The chapter ends with a section of modern day churches who are ministering well in this area. Chapter 4 described the implementation of the project. A detailed discussion on the administering of group discussions is followed by a description of the course of study administered to the group. An evaluation of the project makes up chapter 5.
