The approach is as follows: First, the primary data are gathered through the use of a 'Homiletical Questionnaire' which surveyed 104 Protestant and Roman Catholic homiletics professors.  Second, a primary quantitative analysis of the 16 most popular texts is performed by using a 'Homiletical Scorecard' with 261 headings.
