I contend that the common experience shared by African-American women and the rhetorical and literary traditions from which they arise bind them together as preachers, establishing a Womanist homiletical tradition.  My analysis of sermons included 46 sermons in manuscript form, on audio tape and some on videotape, preached by African-American women from a broad spectrum of denominations and geographical areas.
