This group of counselees is the most common group in inpatient psychotherapy.  They manifest behavioral and anti-social problems as well as serious academic and family difficulties.  The author provides a theory of the adolescent's psychic life.  He proposes a promising alternative treatment that is multi-faceted.  It insists that adolescents grow into adults by becoming responsible for their own behavior.
