Yet today in our increasingly urbanized world, young people are less able to experience the wilderness.  Young people today are unsure how to engage a world of poverty, religions, violence, and clashing civilizations.  Thus, young leaders need reflective dialogue toward a theology of apprenticeship for missions.  In the past 15 years the author has spent nearly a year in the wilderness with groups of young people.
