The author researched the church and community through home visits, surveys, interviews, and focus groups and through counsel from consultants of Transforming Churches Network and Genesis Project of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.  The author overcame financial concerns by initiating an endowment, stewardship campaign, and grants.
