The Bible's oral structure shaped its teachings in conventional patterns which influenced and pervaded Scripture thoroughly.   As all ancient writings were composed to be read aloud, these balanced, general symmetrical literary shapes functioned as mnemonic and interpretive aids to an aurally dependent people.  This study tested and found highly successful the use of these visually portrayed literary macro-shapes in engaging and enlivening faith among Bible study participants in a modern Presbyterian church.
