Some research shows that young people affiliated with religious communities also suffer similar rates of isolation, loneliness, and stress as those without such community support.\r\nUtilizing Richard Osmer’s methodology of practical theology and surveys of college students who became Catholic through the Rite of Reception into the Full Communion of the Catholic Church, this study explores these questions through a more focused lens. Rather than describing disconnection or a lack of grounding, the college students surveyed disclosed that they brought a strong sense of meaning, purpose, and Christian identity to their exploration of Catholicism.
