Three dimensions of the phenomenon of change are examined: 1) the vision or goal of change; 2) the process of change; and 3) the leadership of change. The study draws upon the teachings of Jesus and the Bible, the author's experience as participant observer, and scholars and leaders such as Argyris, Fisch, Fisher, Frankl, Friedman, Jervis, King, Schein, and Ury."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133296908828672,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:17:02.522Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:02:22Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:32:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ff3493f0-5284-42dd-a322-bfb2cefba65e","accessControl_ssim":["aac4166b-ba3b-4d0d-a913-1f2fbd9e9f83"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The formation of Hispanic Catholic lay leadership in the United States"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T01:02:21Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:25:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["a64e18f5-b3ad-4aff-ba96-5628cc47eabf"],"hasLease_ssim":["276fbb65-c60e-4d5f-8630-ff3e7f1ba703"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Gabriel J Fackre"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brian J Jordan"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Clergy","Laity","Hispanic American Catholics"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The future leaders of Hispanic American Catholics will be lay people. This use of multiple methods is intended to impress the reader with the urgency of this problem and the growing need for lay leadership. Current communications research and resources (new bells) are presented to enable parish ministers to develop communications strategies as a tool in ministry (new steeples). Chapter 1 explains the communications process of message-sending and message-receiving. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 focus on the three primary elements of that process: communicator, audience, and message. Chapters 5 and 6 discuss the mass media. The paper concludes with a theological perspective on the ministry of communications as an incarnational experience.
