It asserts that a staff development program must accompany reorganization if resistance is to be overcome and behavior changed.  The project links narrative theology to case studies.  A program emerges that fosters identity redefinition.  The program uses traditional third party cases and the case method proposed by organizational theorist Chris Argyris.  It integrates these into a format for theological reflection. Many of these women keep the abuse 'secret.'  As a result they must deal with its long-term effects in their adult lives.  These victims come to therapy with a false presentation.  Underlying the neurotic symptoms they present are the long-term negative effects of sexual abuse.  The project outlines cues to identification and a suggested treatment plan for post-traumatic stress disorder that includes both individual and group therapy. The word 'alcoholic' is abandoned in favor of the term 'problem-drinker' because of ambiguous meaning of the former.  The project describes the four major classifications of problem-drinkers and draws implications for treatment. The purpose of this project is to give the clergyperson, in this case the rabbi, an appreciation for the religious rite of passage as well as an understanding of its psychoanalytical origins and interpersonal implications.  The project outlines the traditional Jewish approaches as well as the human and practical realities of three particular rites of passage. These images appear to arise from the unconscious as primitive mythological motifs.  The author calls their projection the 'ordaining' phenomenon.  When it occurs the event raises many issues: what triggers it? What is its scope? What are its implications for healing and growth? What are the symbols and archetypal images that constellate and to what processes do they point?  Are they positive or negative?  Do they enhance or restrict the counseling process?  Finally, how can the pastoral counselor make use of these insights in the peculiar ministry of pastoral counseling?  The myths function as neurotic defenses for the counselee.
