The theology/philosophy was formed by studying the Bible and books from theological and counseling areas.  Several counseling models were incorporated to form a useful model for churches.  Case studies and counselee evaluations were completed for three church members.  The theology/philosophy and the counseling model were effective in giving direction in counseling. Biblical teaching, the Ellen G White writings, and contemporary scientific data were investigated.  These three views in psychosomatic relationships were found to be operative in life-style programs of health-conditioning centers in the United States, such as Wildwood Lifestyle Center \u0026 Hospital (Georgia), Uchee Pines Lifestyle Center (Alabama), and Hartland Health Center (Virginia). Based on the above studies, a health education program for Seventh-Day Adventists in Japan that incorporates the concept of psychosomatic relationships was designed. The historical and sociological background of the Caribbean immigrant family was researched, and a model for addressing their needs was designed in the form of a nine-session seminar series focusing on the areas identified above. This thesis explores ways by which the Seventh-Day Adventist Church can adapt radio broadcasting for social change and evangelism in Ghana. Thus, a study of literature on the art of religious broadcasting, contracts by letters, and interviews and surveys were made to find practical and innovative approaches to contexualized radio evangelism. Several New Testament examples were explored in an effort to determine the church's responsibility on behalf of the missing members.  The descriptive method was used in the study.  It was based upon 176 responses to a questionnaire and personal interviews with people who have dropped out of the church.  The responses were evaluated by the Research and Statistics Department of Andrews University. The study has four sections: 1) a biblical and theological understanding of evangelism; 2) a survey of Hinduism in Trinidad; 3) a survey of selected literature; and 4) the development of a proposed evangelistic strategy utilizing diversified methods. A training program in public evangelism was designed and implemented for a selected group of lay members of the Central Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church of Milwaukee.  They received theoretical and practical instruction during a seven-week evangelistic campaign. The study was based on 250 interviews with persons who have become disassociated with the church and with those who are active church leaders and lay persons.  The interviews revealed that the major factor for both apostasy and inactive membership was problems concerning marriage and divorce.  A second factor was lack of support in times of crisis.  Other causes were movement between cities and decline in spiritual life.  The conclusion highlights several causes of apostasy. The Seventh-day Adventist church has not developed tools that enable the pastor to meet this responsibility.  The Deeper Life Conference is designed to fill this gap through the adaptation of the spiritual retreat concept.  During the weekend long conference, the participants receive instruction in meditation, prayer, healthfulness, and fasting, and are given time to practice meditation and prayer.  Three surveys taken before, at the close of the Conference, and six months after the conference determine the growth in the participants' spiritual life. One reason for this interest is that conflict can cause dysfunctional and functional effects in any congregation.  The theological, social, andragogical, and methodological approaches to the study of conflict management and reconciliation undergird the development of a six-module seminar.  This seminar exposes ministers to skills which aid interpersonal relationships: listening, assertiveness, conflict resolution, collaborative problem-solving, and skill selection.  The findings suggest that the successful church administrator also will demonstrate proficiency in interpersonal relationships and creative conflict
