The project encompassed a four-year period between 1998 and 2001 and included three-years of focused interaction with thirty-three flagship and representative organizations from fourteen states and twenty-six cities nationwide. This study was a quantitative, quasi-experimental study utilizing two churches and two groups within each church, one control and one experimental. The analysis of data collected from the Personal Involvement Inventory determined the impact of visual imagery upon the sermons' ability to involve congregants.
