The researcher employed a case study and grounded theory approach to examine the current 'postmodern' culture which has shaped the outlook and opinions of today's 20-somethings, particularly their attitudes toward spiritual matters and Christianity. The development of an exit strategy in missions partnership serves as the backdrop from which this investigation evolved. The literature on empowerment, the historical review of Converge Worldwide's sixty years of engagement in the Philippines, and the literature on missions exit strategies were critically read and analyzed in this study. In addition, the researcher conducted surveys and interviews to assess the current realities, challenges, and trends in doing missions in the Philippines. Traits of the generations are discovered through literature review and field research, using the grounded theory method. Second, mission is described with eight viral factors that caused the spontaneous expansion of the early church. Third, the researcher created strategies to maximize the traits of the generations by reviewing which traits are leverageable or prohibitive related to the viral factors. Generational entelechies are discovered and generational cultures are defined to build a whole-church multi-generational missional culture.
