The project was conducted in a sixteen-week out-patient aftercare program involving seven clients. Spiritual well-being was measured by a test-retest method using the Spiritual Well Being Scale developed by Craig Ellison and Raymond Paloutzian, the Keirsey and Bates Personality Profile, and Howard Clinebell's Relational Well Being Surveys. The findings supported the thesis that spirituality is a central issue in the prevention of relapse.
