With these methods the project assists these women in discerning the influence of patriarchy on their personal and faith stories and offers them an opportunity to encounter Jesus through biblical stories interpreted from a feminist perspective. The program consisted of eight two-hour sessions, meeting one evening each week.  The author believed that by exposing women to women in the Scriptures through the lens of the work of women scholars, the women's self-esteem would be enhanced. The Hudson Index of Self-Esteem was the measure of the women's esteem.  A baseline test was given followed by the test taken at the end of each session.
