The course stressed intentional planning and correct use of the financial and other resources which God has entrusted to the clergy.  It dealt with resource management needs of all families and the special concerns of clergy families.  The project and its seminar resulted in significant experiences for many of the participating families. The author recruits six United Methodist pastors to participate in a retreat and three reflection sessions.  Comparisons of pre-project and post-project impressions of participants indicate a genesis of community. Post-reflection reports reveal expanded insights into pastoral situations. Pre- and post-event instruments and interviews supplemented the evaluation data. Significant changes in the understanding and practice of caregiving as ministry were noted. This project develops and implements a twelve-session training program with ten participants on lay caring ministry in a church.  The results include an increase in the congregation's acceptance of lay involvement in ministry, especially caring; a broadening in the congregation's concept of caring for others; an increase in the participants' willingness to be accepting of others and in their ability to provide lay caring ministry; and the development by the participants of many specific ministries.
