A triumphalist theology emerged out of this belief that denies the hard paradoxes of faith and life. This dissertation examines the Church of God development of this triumphalistic faith practice and attempts to develop an expanded theological perspective and practice of ministry. This is conceptualized by examining several components of Paul Tillich's theology. This will allow Pentecostals the ability to make meaning of their pain and suffering and live and minister authentically."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129690274004993,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:19:42.967Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:22:49Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:19:13Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e50aa862-caa1-4b1d-84cf-4d1115c93cd0","accessControl_ssim":["4ea6fb93-b540-4927-aa1f-3072916531a4"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Benedictine practices in the post modern church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:22:48Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:41:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["26981f71-c9e5-43a1-8f9c-5bf527f70d11"],"hasLease_ssim":["2c055c3f-9b73-4d8c-8466-c542f08b3f58"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Ronald H Cram"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Paul H Lang"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Benedictines","Spiritual life--Christianity--Protestantism","Spiritual direction"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Benedictine practices of work, rest and play, worship, and prayer have ordered the life of Catholic faith for centuries. Postmodern Presbyterians long for more balance, order, community, and intimacy with God. The thesis of this project is that these Benedictine practices can provide balance, order, community, and intimacy with God for Presbyterian faith. The project followed the lives of eight Christian lay persons as they sought to embody Benedictine practices over a period of thirteen weeks. Qualitative research methods were used, principally through taped interviews. These provide evidence of growth in all four areas."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129662793973760,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:19:16.760Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:17:27Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:48:15Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"202fac55-500f-47d1-b1d3-1cef92dc5720","accessControl_ssim":["33f30103-65a4-426b-8443-0eeb857f09fd"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Pastoral care of HIV/AIDS patients"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:17:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:05:27Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0101f51e-0218-422e-8b59-473dfdc6f428"],"hasLease_ssim":["805d65b2-f910-4573-ba2a-0adfa7ee11c0"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Charles E Raynal"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Henroy U Samuels"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["AIDS (Disease)","Church work with the sick","HIV (Viruses)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Within a relatively short time HIV/AIDS has become an epidemic which poses a serious threat to society.
