It is aggressive and diverse and requires an entrepreneurial initiative, which not every pastor has. Special characteristics, qualities, traits and skills are required in order for these pastors to succeed. Just what those characteristics or qualities are is the subject of this study. To identify them, the methods or instruments of research used were a written questionnaire and an oral interview. The focus was upon five Brazilian American pastors who are successfully engaged in new church development in several different states. A careful evaluation of these assessments led to the conclusion that the profile of the successful Brazilian-American new church development pastor includes eight distinctive qualities which, taken together, are the key to success in this ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128888239194112,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:06:58.087Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:06:18Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:06:59Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"958f2839-3777-405e-acc0-5ee7d18c99f7","accessControl_ssim":["29021fbd-b674-4a00-a2ac-18b7915747fc"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Vocational imagination: the spirituality of vocation among Baptist participants in a youth theology program"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:06:17Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:30:38Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["35c1eee6-4fc7-479f-95aa-7bfd0779f5f2"],"hasLease_ssim":["73c38b96-b4c3-443e-a997-c744231822ae"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kathleen M O'Connor"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Melanie Greer Nogalski"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["High school students","Vocation","Baptists"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This qualitative study examines the impact of a theological program for high school youth on Baptist participants two years after their exposure to theological reflection in a summer academy emphasizing vocational exploration. This research project proposes the possibility that liturgical elements of worship can serve to connect these worldviews. Worship theology, history, and practice are the basis for analyzing the worship practices in a particular congregation from modern and postmodern perspectives. Particular worship connections are described, as is a hermeneutics of worship that offers guidance for authentic and faithful worship during paradigm shifts."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128058980204544,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:53:47.244Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:59:28Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:44:23Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0bef1436-4898-400f-bbcc-5ed8df50dc9b","accessControl_ssim":["81d3c171-15d2-4c1e-a83e-bdf344291a27"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Stirrings of contemplation in the obscure night"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:59:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:27:10Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8d90e87c-7ee3-4caa-91eb-0e9830b4987f"],"hasLease_ssim":["24c52fb3-3cf1-4743-b696-b2bdd0688084"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William Harkins"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Daniel P Schrock"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Prayer--Psychology","Prayer--Comparative studies"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Much church life is organized around pathways of discursive meditation.
