Promise Keepers aids local churches in many ways, by building up Christian men in regional conferences conducted in football stadiums, by providing support for pastors and ministry leaders through its Ambassador and Key Man networks, and by encouraging pastors and churches to serve their communities. Caccioppo in a sermon series on 1 Corinthians. Expository preaching must be persuasive and life-changing, grounded on synthetic, holistic interpretation. The extended value of a series based on a biblical book and that more enduring effect are likely to occur through a cognitive process called 'elaboration.' Since the project was carried out in the uncontrolled environment of a local church, results were tentative and descriptive rather than definitive or predictive.  Three communication factors emerged as significant: trustworthiness, clarity of exposition, and receptor-experience-based terminology. The project assesses leadership needs of the church in Eastern Europe, evaluates the seminar in light of those needs, and recommends changes to improve the seminar.  Assessment of the pastoral leadership situation and resulting leadership needs in evangelical churches of post-communist Eastern Europe is accomplished through a Pastoral Leadership Survey. Case studies of three seminar participants evaluate the possiblility of significantly addressing these needs through a four-day seminar on the subject of pastoral leadership.  These case studies,  augmented by interviews, were used to determine the practical effectiveness of the seminar. This project uses the reconciliation of these two churches as a model for other congregations that may consider merging.  Three major criteria--philosophical, relational, and physical--are crucial factors for a successful merger.  Hindrances to unity stemmed from spiritual conflicts and a process requiring unanimous decisions.  Conflicts involved leadership issues, power plays by individuals, personal preferences about worship, and conflict over Christian life teaching that led to tabling the merger and renewed division. Beginning with a general survey of the origin, history, and theological implications of each feast, the project develops contemporary worship models for the church.  Each model separately highlights a feast in an innovative way so that it may then be implemented and evaluated. On the hypothesis that few churches sponsoring Christian schools are training members who are parents of students in these schools in evangelism, the project surveyed churches that sponsor schools and are also members of either the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) or Texas Association of Baptist Schools (TABS).
