The project was based on biblical, theological, and psychological studies of spirituality, midlife, and spiritual formation, with special emphasis on Jungian perspectives, developmental psychology, and the Korean concept of han, and focusing on the issues and needs of midlife. Included is the study of thirty-one women from a suburban Roman Catholic church, the subsequent presentation of findings on a matrix, and four case studies of women who showed a predominance in one of the phases of individuation, i.e., symbiosis, practicing, individuation, or distancing.
