It seeks to overcome some of the weakness of, and act as an extension of, premarital counseling. The project serves to help newlyweds in their first years of marriage and was based on Gottman and Silver's book Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. There were five sessions and six couples involved. The program was designed to help couples grow in love, assess key relational issues and increase in their appreciation of marital enrichment. A biblical marriage model--men leading in sacrificial love and unselfish service, and by treating their wives as equal partners--is needed within the Indian context. This project was successful in promoting change by impacting the leaders' marriages. They intend to model and teach this concept to their members.
