While we rejoice for this open door and the opportunity for the gospel, we also see the challenges in establishing the new believers in the biblical faith as wll as the development of leaders for the emerging churches. The challenge of developing leaders becomes more complex as many of them are oral learners. One of the ways to face the challenge is to use oral methods in training leaders. This thesis describs the opportunities and challenges in Bihar, India. It surveys mission history, particularly focused on the Bihar Reach-Out Network. It builds a biblical and theological foundation for consideration of orality. Churches are called to be interdependent, self-propagating, outward-focused communities of Kingdom people comprised at their core of reaidcl disciples covenanted to the Triune God and to each other, who are missional, incarnational and transformational to the surrounding culture. Chapter 1 lays out the framework for the overall project.  Chapter 2 focuses on the pertinent biblical passages which lay the foundation for the concepts of fairness in labor remuneration.  Chapter 3 provides an exhaustive literature review and thorough explanation of the survey instruments, control groups, existing statistical abstracts, and compensation studies encompassed in the project. Chapter 4 facilitates a cross-comparison of the compensation data for the three leader groups. Additionally, this chapter draws the project to a conclusion by allowing for an evaluation of how the comparative results mentioned above relate to the original project thesis. A select group of individuals were surveyed using a Likert Scale to determine their understanding of the Great Commission.  Preaching centered on the Great Commission.  Studies focused on living in obedience, the evangelism of Jesus, and on the Great Commission.  The outcome was that many individuals indicated an increased interest in sharing their faith. Yet the majority involved rejected the use of evangelism tools or participation in servant evangelism opportunities.  The best results came from a small group led by the author.  The major conclusion was that one can have a good knowledge of the Great Commission and claim an interest in sharing his/her faith. The knowledge the pastors have regarding the occurrence of dysfunctional families inside the churches, and about the ways how this situation affects them were researched. An evaluation to identify the dysfunctional level in the families from these churches was performed. The surveyed pastors accept the existence of dysfunctional families within the Christian church, recognizing that this affects its healthy development. It is concluded that the level of dysfunction found in the Christian families was not overwhelmingly serious, but it is significant due to pernicious behavioral patterns transmitted generationally. Six sermons were preached from Paul's Epistle to the Colossians for the thesis author's Community Presbyterian Church, Edison, New Jersey. Church members served on two evaluative teams. Research focused on Colossians scholarship; Christology from dogmatic and Pauline theology; expository and doctrinal preaching issues; and listener response.  Questionnaires tested knowledge of Pauline teachings; in-depth reviews of the 2006 sermons; and 2008 follow-up on personal application of Pauline teachings and evaluation of subsequent sermons. The task consists of four components.  First, to research and to formulate eight core biblical convictions that are essential for the task of expository preaching. Second, to research China and its culture, the Chinese mindset, and the house church movement. It also looks into the learning process of the rural people and the training resources in preaching. Third, to design a biblical preaching course targeting Chinese rural pastors who have a lower level of education. The training material is adapted from Dr. Haddon W. Robinson's step-by-step process as described in his book, Biblical Preaching.
