However, members remember being 'the church' in the aftermath of the April 1974 tornado when they served their community face to face. In this project, the author explored if meeting a mission recipient face to face, hearing their story, and photographing them would enable members to see the image of God in someone who is very different from them. Following his research the author analyzes similar components in the new church development he serves.  With the aid of A church planning questionnaire by Grayson L Tucker Jr, and added questions developed from the research, the writer measures his church against that of the rapidly growing new churches of the first three centuries.  Areas of similarity and weakness were identified.
