The author uses the developmental style of research based on the action-research model.  He describes a project in ministry which is designed to establish a team for ministry involving clergy and laypersons.  He tests issues such as power and authority theologically and contextually. Four students enrolled in a 1/2 unit CPE course are researched in a quasi-experimental design focusing on selected roles and skills.  A pre- and post-test questionnaire and video-taped simulated supervisory sessions are used to identify growth.  Results are mixed, although directions for further inquiry are noted.  The curriculum is presented in detail and implications for teaching pastoral supervision to parish clergy are described.
