The method of study used was the Pro-Active qualitative research method described in William Myers' book, Research in ministry: a primer for the Doctor of Ministry program. The theological principle will suggest that the congregation needs to move away from viewing itself as the family of God or a fellowship, to an understanding of itself as the people of God.  Research will explain the difference between: the concept of a neighborhood church and that of a metropolitan church; new developing neighborhoods and stable communities; and small churches and large churches.
