For four weeks the pastor utilized sermons, bulletins, announcements, and newsletters to inform.  Group leaders were trained in a retreat format. For three months, five groups met in homes twice each month. Once there, if warmly welcomed, they will complete a visitor registration card whereby prospect information can be obtained.  The method of study used was a combination of observation, numerical comparisons, and surveys. The methodologies utilized to achieve this goal consisted of council and congregational teaching and training, survey instruments based upon the Likkert format and control group input.  The project revealed that worship council members rated novel worship techniques employed during the project with higher marks than their control group counterparts. Each exercise was based on one of the tasks of mourning that Wm Worden discussed in his book, Grief Counseling and Grief Therapy. These exercises were used in a group setting consisting of six single adult women. Two were widows, three were divorced and one had lost a brother to AIDS. While the project was designed to indicate success with eight participants, not only was this goal surpassed but others have indicated a desire to participate at a later time. Instruments used to evaluate the effectiveness of the project include an evaluation form for each session, a pretest and a posttest, and a motivational gift inventory.
