I utilized the preaching skills enhancement model, andthe sermon series focused on soteriology from the Apostle Paul’s Epistle to theGalatians. The Apostle Paul makes it clear in Galatians that believers must be aware oftheir beliefs so as not to be easily misled by false doctrine. The same concern will bepresented in this project addressing the biblical understanding of salvation at FBCGreensboro and the need for understanding salvation so as not to be easily misled,manipulated, or misinformed on the doctrine.The project developed through diligent research into doctrinal preaching bestpractices and the doctrine of soteriology as found in Galatians. To ensure validity of theproject, a doctrinal sermon expert evaluated the doctrinal sermon form and deliveryeffectiveness, and doctrinal content was evaluated by an expert theologian. Thecongregation provided feedback for each sermon as well. The main purpose was to determine the ethical convictions of Central Baptist Church attendees and after determining those convictions to address them from a biblical perspective. Th goal of the project was to develop a series of apologetic sermons that will move the attendees from their current convictions to those that are in line with God's Word. The project director studied key resources in order to determine the essential elements of an evangelistic preaching model and established a standard of research. The project director submitted the essential elements and the standard of research for review to experts in evangelistic preaching. Following the identification of the essential elements of an evangelistic preaching model, the project director developed four sermons based on the evangelistic preaching model. The project director then preached the sermons to the congregation of The Beginnings Church. The director reflected on the use of application in preaching to find general functions and principles of application and then developed a series of sermons that demonstrated the use of applications in preaching. A sermon evaluation form was developed through research and consultation with Hershael York, Professor of Christian Preaching at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Six sermons were preached and then evaluated by the project director, eight congregational evaluators and four peer evaluators. The project is based on the ministry skill enhancement model. The project director researched the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre, focusing on six of the major genres of Scripture: narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, parable, epistles, and Revelation. Annotated bibliographies and reports on expository preaching and biblical genre were reviewed by Dr. Lewis Richerson and Dr. Steven Smith, experts in the fields of expository preaching and biblical genre. From the reports, rubrics were created to evaluate the sermon development process. The project director developed sermon structures, outlines, and manuscripts utilizing the knowledge gained from the research to structure the sermon according to the structure and genre of the text. The project director delivered six sermons to the congregation of Galilee First Baptist Church. Dr. Richerson and Dr. Smith evaluated the sermon structures, outlines, and sermon videos.
