Through the work of a transition committee during a six to twenty-four month period on a five part self-study examining the history, polity, denominational linkage, vision and commitment to new leadership the church will identify inherent problematic issues and keep them from resurfacing in the tenure of the next pastor. Questions such as euthanasia and abortion are treated in the section on the dignity of the human person at all stages.  A tentative theology of aging is gleaned from biblical and other sources.  The Christian vocation of death is part of that theology.
