Over a three year period efforts were made to explore biblical stories concerning women with a group of women in a small rural parish.  Methods included Bible study, retreat days, Sunday preaching, and use of scripture in pastoral counseling. Periodic evaluation and shared reflections were used as indicators of growth. As the spiritual direction coincides with individualism, there exists the potential for a profound conversion experience.  The method of research was the use of case study material from four spiritual directees.  There was a convergence of material from interpersonal relationships, relationship with God, and Jungian insights into the interior life.  The Jungian material included use of symbols, dreams, typology, journal keeping, active imagination, and rituals.
