The project combined current research on marriage and family resiliency, theological reflection on the meaning of marriage and the call to ministry, and an experiential learning model. The basis is the institutional needs of the air force and the research-identified needs and interests of chaplains.  These needs are correlated with the applicable principles of holistic growth.  The combined implications become the ingredients of the program. The resulting five-year design was evaluated by fifty-eight chaplains.  They concluded the program was effectively responsive to their needs and interests.
