This service can be coordinated with existing services, including referrals.  The Bethel Center Baptist Church developed such a program.  The people were asked what they needed and then the church developed the program. Most older people want to live in their own home as long as possible. Research was done on baby boomers and the worship tradition of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Five groups met for one-and-one-half hours, once per week for ten weeks.  Four of these used a curriculum consisting of personal faith-sharing, instructional materials, hands-on activities, and prayer.  A placebo group studied the Bible.  A control sample consisted of another thirty congregational members.  A questionnaire was the basis of evaulation.  Results indicated that faith-sharing produced the most movement.  New groups exhibited a higher degree of movement than existin groups.
