The author used this information to develp a theology of the family which adapts to the irregular schedules of such families. The theology is based on the concept of the covenant.  It focuses on the strengthening of and development of the relationships in the family, rather than on the preservation of set roles.  The family structure is seen as flexible and adaptive. The first task is accomplished through literature reviews and questionnaire analyses.
