There are three sections to the work: a comprehensive study of conversion from the biblical material through current history to the present; a consideration of the contextualization of the message of the good news within the Australian scene; and a field study questionnaire and in-depth interviews of the clergy within the diocese. As a result of this study it was found that the ethos of the clergy is more diverse than at first thought and that a broader definition of conversion needed to be considered. Models for evangelism were suggested, including outlines of a gospel presentation based on An Australian Prayer Book."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719493212045312,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:50:57.412Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:19:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:50:00Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"bc592bba-e6cc-4905-b007-87936edfbe6b","accessControl_ssim":["d94f7df5-1167-4656-b43e-71c7348be295"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Journey in the wilderness: a critical study of low self-esteem as a barrier to mutual ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:19:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:33:29Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d3486198-a86b-45ab-81d2-ec01590a0472"],"hasLease_ssim":["530c81c9-a149-4f58-a968-8521a2f2da09"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Charles W Taylor"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jacqueline S Dickson"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Lay Church work","Image of God","Self-esteem"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["A three-stage theoretical construct for theological reflection developed by James and Evelyn Whitehead (1980) and 'grounded theory' constitute the research methodology used for this study of the relationship between inappropriate self-esteem and the ability to engage in mutual ministry. The reader will discover that young adults' faith requires an appropriate language and framework to intersect their faith with the socio-cultural milieu. Exploration of how a developing faith and the existential struggles of a young adult intersect was done through a journaling and group experience, using a group of young adults from the western suburbs of Sydney. It was found that young adults are in a liminal period and require a specific ministry that uses a mentor figure to shape their personal dream. Such figures provide an environment for the transition into adulthood."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718622261673984,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:37:06.809Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:19:04Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:53:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e3a1f942-8327-4e13-a987-194a0cf47498","accessControl_ssim":["3b704115-4500-441e-b947-1d640175d78a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Pastoral care to military families shaped by the Gospel as a message of reconciliation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:19:03Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:38:31Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["291ed54c-a70c-4931-9223-38b103369b8e"],"hasLease_ssim":["8499c842-8429-4d3b-93d3-0828583720c3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Ben A McCracken"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Roger B Knutsen"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with families","Military chaplains","Church work with military personnel"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation is mainly concerned with the chaplain's role in helping individuals/families change their characteristic ways of responding to life's situations.
