Research into why people do or do not forgive was made through personal interviews, questionnaires and literature search. The family unit as a system was reviewed and three therapeutic counseling methods designed to bring forth forgiveness were examined. Data revealed realistic actions that can be taken to improve pastoral counseling and provide for healing among family members. The ministry was offered to a group of four infertile couples during eight group sessions for a total of twelve contact hours.  A pretest/posttest questionnaire was given to the couples.
