The restoration process involves confession, not only to one's spouse but to all who are offended; repentance, defined as submission to God, to other leaders, and to one's spouse; and receiving forgiveness and grace from God and from those who are offended. The pastoral staff must empower lay ministry and lay leadership, and then empower lay people as primary caregivers.
