Scripture records extended families and clans living together showing respect, appreciation and love for each one's contribution regardless of sex, age, or position.  Our current century has experienced a dramatic change in lifestyle, resulting in a dearth of births and a noticeable increase in longevity in the life of seniors.  The demographic change has institutions within society struggling to cope with possible solutions.  The local church in particular has experienced an aging congregation which of necessity demands restructuring in programs.  The author, himself a senior, has researched statistics, church policies, and interviewed church leaders that have prepared for the change. It needs leaders who recognize God's calling and can effectively implement that calling in today's church.  This project presents a practical elder leadership model developed and implemented by Olathe Bible Church in shepherding its congregation.  The model was derived from biblical investigation and case studies of large, multi-staff, elder-led churches.  The scriptural findings and case research were applied to create a relevant, practical, visual model of shepherding leadership for use in elder-led churches. A survey of pastors is conducted to discover homiletical, technical, and theological guidelines for the use of video clips in sermons. With the goal of developing a ministry plan for Fellowship Church of Carol Stream, Illinois, a dozen nearby churches were examined for ministry effectiveness utilizing the collecting and analysis of anonymous congregational surveys. In this study the authors surveyed pastors who are looking to hire associate staff, seeking to ascertain their level of understanding and preparedness for the task at hand.  The research revealed that most churches and their pastors have not agreed on a process for hiring associate pastors.  The author concludes that it is the senior pastor who should lead the search for kindred spirit team members.
