The questionnaire method was used among Asian Indian pastors to study certain areas of ministry and the level of networking with established churches.  This project analyzes some aspects of friendship evangelism and traditional methodologies, and will help readers understand Hinduism, biblical Christianity, cultural Christianity, Hindu cultural values and belief systems in order to remove misconceptions, biased feelings, and wrong attitudes. Church leaders (pastors, elders and other primary leaders) in their attempts to understand and work through conflict may well exacerbate unseen systemic precursors to the conflict.  Rather than the many positive gains that can be achieved through conflict resolution, the church may be left with 'chronic conflict' that is not readily resolved by conciliation and problem-solving.  In these circumstances, a systemic understanding of organizational life is considered to be most helpful.  Family systems theory (or Bowen theory) is one such systems theory of organizational life that is particularly appropriate for use within the church. Dr. Murray Bowen is the originator of this theory and his understanding of organizational systems forms much of the theoretical basis of the project. The project applies Bowen theory to caoching church leaders through one-on-one interviews and a day-long group session.  The church leaders were from various Christian denominations in the Vancouver metropolitan area of British Columbia, Canada and each one reported experiencing 'chronic conflict' in his individual church. There is a tremendous need for the church to care for its members and reach out with the love of Christ.  Small groups play a strategic role in faciliating life transformation and care for those in need.  At Parkview Church in Iowa City, IA, located next to the University of Iowa, I provided a ten-week class designed to equip experienced small group leaders for caring ministries.  As a leader and facilitator, I envisioned and equipped small group leaders to care for those working through loneliness, depression, worry, cancer, divorce, grief and loss, and hospitalization.  The results of this class were noteworthy. It is hoped that God may use this major project to provide the necessary framework for transforming youth ministry models in dealing with volunteers.  Chapter 1 introduces the goals, objectives, and limitations of the project.  Chapter 3 addresses the historical background and significance of the project.  Chapter 4 narrates the development, methodology, and procedures used to achieve the goals and objectives.  Chapter 5 gives recommendations which were found as a result of the research.  This chapter lists specific ways to retain and dismiss volunteers.
