It was also an attempt to revitalize a local Solomon Islands church by helping it to assess its needs and then design and implement its own objectives and change process.  During the project, significant growth took place in the health and witness of the church.  Methods of assessment included the author's own Church Ministries Survey. It is intended to help students develop the skill of choosing a sermon structure appropriate to the text being preached.  Inasmuch as the conviction of the writer is that the first place to look for the structure of the sermon is in the text itself, the manual is entitled 'A Manual for Text-Driven Preaching.' The manual explains a six-step process for developing sermons that are true to the form as well as the meaning of the text. This study concerns itself with relationships and how intimacy, conflict, and communication affect codependent relationships. The study examines the Bible, analytical psychology, and traces relationships from biblical times to the present. The project presents a psycho-educational view, which combines and integrates psychology and religion. Combining the cognitive, affective, and spiritual, this project presents a curriculum that specifically speaks to individuals with poor skills in maintaining relationships due to codependent behavior patterns. The approach used is outlined and presented in a ten week intensive course. Utilizing the tenets of family therapy, education, and the Bible, the course assists participants in addressing and working through prior experiences that hinder the forming and maintaining of healthy relationships. The survey targeted the amount of time spent during the work week in the following areas: administration, counseling, preaching/teaching, visitation and other pastoral duties. Self-denial, godliness, and submission are shunned for self-fulfillment, relief, and lordship.  To confront this worldview, a study of the attributes of God was administered to Christian students in their early twenties. The leadership team studied Matthew 28:19-20 and devised a Great Commission Purpose Statement, and then studied New Testament functions of the church and developed a Church Mission Statement to carry out the Great Commission Statement.  Through a study of biblical priorities, it became apparent that the church was imbalanced particularly in the areas of evangelism and discipleship training for ministry, so two key programs were begun in these areas.
