The author did research to find relevant seminar topics.  Six seminars were then developed by the author and presented over a period of one semester to fifteen students.  After four months, the author evaluated the effects of the seminars on the students' lives and ministries. Three seminars were found to be helpful and the rural students had been effectively trained for city ministry. The impact of the study guide was measured with a survey, administered before and after studying. Three out of four respondents from a broad spectrum of missionary roles and boards would train again at Houghton and credit the hard work, discipline, spiritual growth, examples of faculty and academic input (especially Bible courses) in college days with their development.
