The pro-active and action research methods were used.  The research discovered that when people shared common concerns about human sufferings/needs, they can work together for peace and reconciliation. That term refers to dialogue, mutuality, and joint stewardship of the Word between preacher and people as they gather around the Scriptures.  Evaluation of nine sermons, sessions discussing views of preaching, and sermon preparation seminars were the methods used; members of Fourth Lutheran Church, Springfield, Ohio, participated.
