To prepare for the seminar the author developed a Christian anthropology, researched the subject of stress and prepared seminar materials. After conducting it, he reviewed his findings with professionals from various disciplines and refined the process in further offerings.  Although the evaluations were not scientifically conclusive, participants in the seminars were very appreciative. Disease frequently occurs when a patient's lifestyle is not in harmony with his/her attitudes, values and beliefs.  This study explores ways in which physicians and clergy can work together to foster wholistic health for patients.  The University of Michigan, Department of Family Practice has employed a full-time pastoral counselor/ethicist to further the cooperation between clergy and physicians.  Through a training program focused on counseling skills, clergy and physicians have developed comfortable working relationships.
