The process aimed to assist principals in Catholic education to identify their own faith development needs and to clarify their ministry in today's cultural climate.  The process was developed with seven principals in the Halton Roman Catholic School Board (Burlington, Ontario) from June 1990 to June 1991. The author sought to discover whether or not such a ministerial identity appropriation took place; how students recognized such an appropriation; and to what extent the process of theological reflection in the seminar setting was critical to the act of appropriation.
