Drawing on the theology of ordination in the Wesleyan and United Methodist traditions, the project engaged a small cohort group of ordained elders in the California-Pacific Annual Conference in a year-long conversation on the spiritual, theological and practical issues of leading the United Methodist Church in this period of transition. It is the author's intention to show the significance of ordination and how it impacts the Order of Elder. The author researched various texts, conducted a survey, and presented a position paper to his colleagues on the Norfolk District.
