I plan to present this project ot the Bishops and Cabinets of the IGRAC and West Virginia Annual Conferences with the hope that it will be used as a guide in effectively making cross-cultural/cross-racial appointments. The author argued that the church must adjust to its new demographic context and begin to reflect the changing demographics in its membership in order to survive and to reflect the inclusive nature of God's kingdom.  Also, the author believes the pastor is the major change agent in leading a congregation toward membership diversity.  The case study method was employed by the author. Many of the members are experiencing the challenges of retirement and aging, especially the challenge of facing the repercussions of life choices.  They look to the pastor and the church to minister to their felt needs. In light of the goal to transform them from passive church members to active Christians, the pastor asked the following questions:  How do Korean Christians experience aging and filter the experience of aging through their Korean culture?  Can the pastor start a ministry with senior adults in the congregation that will serve as a model for older adult ministry in the Korean United Methodist churches of the greater Philadelphia area?  The author created a church academy for older adult members where they could be transormed from passive members to active Christians through a series of classes.  He conducted a survey of older adults in the Bensalem Church and the members of the Korean Senior Citizen Association of Greater Philadelphia.  He developed a program for the Academy, and the participants were surveyed at the conclusion of the program. He surveyed the Corps of Army Chaplains using both printed and web-based forms, exploring motivational factors and attitudes impacting on the notion of vocation or call to ministry.  The results revealed a significant consistency in motivations and attitudes concerning service as chaplains and ministers. Bill Easum in churches of the Central Pennsylvania Conference United Methodist Church. Churches were measured against a standard of vitality derived from the classical and reformation 'marks' of the church as well as evidence of the work of the Holy Spirit.  Study results showed that Easum's strategies assisted congregations in uniting around a core mission and encouraged pastors to boldly preach the Lordship of Jesus Christ. This plan was marginally successful. The pastor was moved before being able to fully realize the results of the plan. Research entailed interviewing five churches that had been at their previous sites at least 75 years and had moved to their current sites in the past 25 years. Relocated congregations differ significantly from new church starts and have important dynamics of congregational identity, tradition and specific cultural settings which affect their ministries.
