Research involves the gathering of local church history, social information, and demographics. A study series on the nature of the church and its mission, developed and implemented by the pastor, is presented to a group of laity. At a retreat the laity give formation to the statement, which receives congregational adoption. Questionnaires help analyze the laity's beliefs about the nature of the church and its mission. Evaluations appraise the project's content and process and the leader's performance. The project concludes that there is a need for ongoing liturgical reflection and a deepened understanding of the pastoral ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717723499921408,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:22:49.682Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:43:15Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:07:38Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e2878aa2-3f8b-473b-b6f7-3918bc742f47","accessControl_ssim":["cabba71f-d7c2-4363-95a2-f323bf2c9844"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A model for ministry to clergy alcoholics for church judicatory personnel"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:43:14Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:36:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7d74b3ec-efba-43e2-8140-aceddd93da46"],"hasLease_ssim":["605c50b0-ce45-4a80-837a-1526b1e1f7c4"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Carroll Saussy"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Church judicatory personnel too frequently respond as if alcoholism is a matter of will and moral weakness. This posture impedes recovery and contributes to the downward spiral of the clergy alcoholic and his or her family. The project offers a model for ministry which helps church judicatory personnel and local church clergy persons become actively involved in the recovery of clergy alcoholics. The model incorporates four specific issues related to recovery: identification, intervention, treatment, and co-dependency. The pervasive nature of the disease includes the co-dependency of the alcoholic's entire family. This document contributes a consultation which is designed to enlighten judicatory personnel and other clergy who are concerned both with the recovery of clergy alcoholic and with his or her return to effective ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720543586353152,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:07:39.127Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:43:14Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:32:43Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e4b2744a-8634-4546-be5d-5da65ae6fb23","accessControl_ssim":["2db04992-0864-4229-9490-0d96ae419811"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Searching for the meaning of worship"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:43:13Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:40:25Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6a3e454f-1c93-431c-8242-68905bc89658"],"hasLease_ssim":["8ae4069f-2494-45bb-a711-cbfb2c0bece3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["James C Logan"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The aim of the project is twofold: 1) to discover, through a historical case study, a Reformed precedent for 'class networking', and 2) test such 'class networking' among some of today's Reformed laity in the Washington, D C area. Dr Thomas Chalmers and his nineteenth century class networking in urban Scotland is chosen as the Reformed precedent. Two groups of affluent laity (one experimental, one control) are selected at random from Reformed parishes to engage in a one-year test of the hypothesis. Results underscore the validity of the hypothesis. The experimental group becomes less prejudiced toward 'the poor' after the year of socializing and the control group shows no change or more prejudice after its year of non-involvement with 'the poor'."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714981419155456,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:39:14.630Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
