The goals are twofold.  To bring into awareness key themes of mission found in the Byzantine Theological Tradition that have, for historical reasons, received little attention in the Byzantine Catholic Church over the past three centuries. To introduce the Byzantine Catholic Church to Systems Theory in a congregational process called Bridgebuilder. It includes a survey study of the current requirements and practices within the major associations of chaplains in the USA regarding training received and assistance offered by these professionals. It provides guidelines about knowledge and skills the chaplains need in order to be effective in assisting those involved in traumatic events.
