It argues that social justice work is equally inspired by the Holy Spirit as private spiritual piety. Traditionally, the church recognizes and accepts the gifts of shouting, singing, and preaching but a major part of the congregation draws the line of acceptance with other gifts, such as prophecy or speaking in tongues, that have begun to manifest during services. A course of study was developed which traced the antecedents of Pentecostalism to the end of classical Pentecostal period (approximately 1960).  Since Pentecostalism is more the result of culture than of theological discourse, the influence of culture of theology was emphasized.  Pentecostalism was defined and Pentecostal doctrines were explained.
